06 Who is the Holy Spirit
EFCA Statement of Faith
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Triune God—co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son.
* Divine Person: The Holy Spirit is not a force but a personal being—fully God—who works in perfect unity with the Father and Son.
* Glorifies Christ: His role is to glorify Jesus Christ and apply Christ’s saving work to individuals.
* Convicts and Regenerates: He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and brings about spiritual rebirth in those who believe.
* Indwells and Empowers: He lives in believers, giving them new life, empowering them for godly living, and equipping them for service and witness.
* Guides and Transforms: The Spirit guides believers into truth, assures them of salvation, and produces spiritual growth—often called the fruit of the Spirit.
